These cases are oblong shaped, light brown, and about a quarter of an inch long. They take about a month to hatch and the female cockroach can produce one case every 5-6 weeks. You’ll usually find these cases in locations which the cockroach considers “safe.”

These can include cracks and crevices, darkened corners, next to pipes, beneath drawers and so on. In some cases the female cockroach will even carry this case until it hatches. They may also glue the case to a surface. Generally, you’ll find these cases near to where cockroaches are living.

A lot of the time you won’t find any egg casings. This means you need to look for other signs of cockroaches. This can include living or dead cockroaches. You may also find their skin. This looks like light brown paper.

Also look for their droppings that can cause allergies, which appears as small black grains. A final sign is smell. Large numbers of cockroaches create a musty odour. If you pick this up, then you may have roaches.
